Sri Lanka Tourism unveils exhibition with traditional dance and music

The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has announced it will officially open the Travel Industry Exhibition with a celebration of traditional dance, music and authentic Sri Lankan food.

The two-day exhibition will be launched by a media event, which will take place in the Gold Room, Dockside Darling Harbour, Wharf 3 in Sydney.

It will include a number of special guest speakers from both Sri Lanka and Australia, highlighting the hidden secrets of Sri Lanka.

Beginning with a traditional Sri Lankan performance by dancers and drummers, the event will then move into an official welcome by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau’s managing director, Sutheash Balasubramaniam.

Following this will be a ribbon cutting ceremony with all dignitaries and special guests, and then the serving of an authentic Sri Lankan breakfast of hoppers and Ceylon tea.

Special guests will include: H.E. Somasundaram Skandakumar, high commissioner of Sri Lanka for Australia, Mr Lal Wickramatunge, consul general for New South Wales and Queensland, and Rhonda Piggot, director of the New South Wales office for the department of foreign affairs and trade.
