Gaming giant Caesars Entertainment Corporation unveiled its new conference centre, 16 July. The new development, named Caesars Forum, cost $375m and comprises 60,387sqm.
The venue hosted a ground-breaking ceremony with the CEO and other high-ranking staff members at Caesars to celebrate the new development, which will be completed in 2020.
The Forum arrives on the back of a strong year for the Vegas region. Figures from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) show that Las Vegas welcomed more than 3.6 million visitors in May 2018 alone.
Over the course of 2018, more than 17 million people have visited the region, over 3 million of which have conducted business in the area.
Caesars hopes to capitalise on this high footfall with its new development, which is within walking distance to more than 20,000 Caesars Entertainment hotel rooms and the retail district.
Caesars CEO Mark Frissora said: “Caesars Entertainment is an undisputed leader in the meetings industry having hosted more than 1.9 million meeting participants, 1.6 million room nights and 17,300 meetings and events last year alone.
“Caesars Forum will be a gateway to Caesars Entertainment’s unmatched network of exclusive offerings that guests and organizations have come to expect. Caesars Forum builds on our strategy to invest in infrastructure that enhances long-term value for our guests.”
The conference centre is also set to create 1,000 local construction jobs and more than 450 permanent jobs upon opening in 2020. It will accommodate 10,000 participants with more than 100 break-out rooms.
It will also include the two largest pillarless ballrooms in the world, equivalent to 27 tennis courts or three ice hockey rinks.
