The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) has called on next generation leaders to nominate for the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry – UFI’s special grant recognising outstanding emerging leaders in the global exhibition industry.
The UFI Next Generation Leadership (NGL) Grant rewards ‘up and coming’ professionals who are driving change and innovation in the exhibition industry. As part of its recently signed MOU with UFI, the EEAA has committed to promoting careers in the sector and mentoring young leaders.
The ‘global picture’ gives insight to importance of cultivating innovation with impact, born out of collaboration: a partnership of new thinkers/influencers, full of fresh perception; novel ideas and opportunities; and a host of nextgen leaders.
The UFI NGL Grant opens the opens the door to new opportunities –providing young leaders with the chance to learn, lead and grow. Elaborating on the nuances of these leadership prospects, EEAA chief executive, Joyce DiMascio said: “This is an opportunity to learn from executive level mentoring, network with other international professionals and advance your career in exhibitions and events.”
DiMascio continues to drive the dialogue forward, adding fuel in form of expert industry know-how: “The UFI NGL Grant is a great opportunity for our talented young leaders to take their ideas and knowledge to the world stage and be part of a multicultural team steering the future direction of our industry.”
“At the EEAA 2017 Conference we were delighted to have on stage four nominees of the 2017 Richard Geddes Young Achiever Award who discussed how they would tackle the changes, the opportunities and future prospects of exhibitions...We now invite professionals in our sector to come forward and take advantage of the UFI NGL Grant,” said DiMascio.
The grant programme will kick off with a workshop at the UFI European Conference in Verona, Italy from 2 to 4 May this year. Recipients of the grant will be required to work remotely together throughout the year in the lead up to presenting in a session at UFI Global Congress in St. Petersburg, Russia from 31 October to 3 November.
