Global events strategy consultancy AMR International and US-based event organiser Lippman Connects have unveiled Transform, a conference for data, analytics and digital in events.

The first event will tale place at the JW Marriott in Washington DC on 20 July 2017, followed by a further event in Europe later in the year.

The conference will provide critical insight to senior exhibition organisers, with the aim of helping the industry understand and embrace data, analytics and digital technologies.

Research conducted by AMR has fond that in today’s exhibition industry 80 per cent of revenue comes from exhibition space sales. The consultancy found that this will continue to grow, but that in ten years the ratio may look markedly difference.

“This event comes in response to the industry’s ongoing reluctance to plan for its long term digital transformation,” said Denzil Rankine, executive chairman, AMR International. “We know technology is rapidly changing the event experience and the expectations of attendees but exhibition organisers are slow to act.

“Very few organisers have allocated budgets for the research and development of digitisation. Across the board, they are uncertain how to proceed, fear the failure of implementation and continue to wait for others to make the first move.”
