An extraordinary supervisory board meeting of Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event GmbH (DCSE) on 25 January 2017 saw the company set out a new course for development, including appointing Michael Brill as managing director for Sport & Events.
Brill (pictured) had worked, since 2013, as senior vice-president of new business development at SMG and managed the operative business for the European mainland of this US-based venue multi-national. Prior to that Brill acted as SMG’s regional vice-president for mainland Europe (2007-2013).
Brill’s achievements include shaping the building of König-Pilsener-Arena in Oberhausen, from the laying of its foundation stone, making it one of Germany’s most successful arenas with 80 non-sporting events. He was also involved in the development of the Wroclaw stadium, the QNCC Congress Centre Doha in Qatar and of the Loreley Open Air Festival.
Hilmar Guckert will remain the CEO of DCSE and Martin Ammermann will be the proxy in charge of the sports segment.
