VisitBritain is set to back the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) #Greatdebate at its Convening Leaders conference in Austin, Texas, this month.
The debate will aim to tackle the issue of ‘How geopolitics and global economics alter the course of business’.
VisitBritain’s head of business visits and events Chris Foy (pictured above) welcomed the opportunity to partner with the PCMA on the new initiative, which will see key industry figures offering insight into the macro trends set to affect the events industry across the world.
“As a world-leading events destination with global connections, there’s a natural fit for Britain to be aligned with this signature thought leadership session,” said Foy.

The debate, moderated by Janet Tan-Collis, president of SACEOS and chief executive of East West Planners, headquartered in Singapore, will feature former MP Nick de Bois, chairman of the UK’s Events Industry Board and David Wallace, COO at Austin-based AngelouEconomics.

The debate will also preview VisitBritain’s new Events are GREAT promotional film that features US and European event strategists outlining the UK’s unique qualities as a business events host.
