Stuttgart has joined the Global Destination Sustainability Index (GDS), subsequently being ranked in fourth place.
The GDS Index advertises and promotes the sustainable development of the meetings industry worldwide.
"The ranking is a good achievement and we are delighted about it. It reflects our self-image of a constantly progressing sustainability policy. This internationally standardised assessment tool for the first time gives us the opportunity of positioning ourselves on the global market as a meeting and congress destination," said Karina Grützner, business development manager of the Stuttgart Convention Bureau.
The ranking was initiated by Scandinavian congress cities under the aegis of the Scandinavian ICCA Chapter and the MCI Group.
