RAI Amsterdam tops 100 million visitor mark

RAI Amsterdam passed a milestone in its history on 7 April. During the Intertraffic Amsterdam exhibition for infrastructure, traffic management and safety, the RAI welcomed the 100 –millionth visitor to its premises since the opening of the Europa complex by Prince Bernard in 1961.

The 100-millionth visitor, Mr Bartenbach, from the Austrian company Bartenbach was surprised by a flashmob made up of RAI personnel. He was welcomed to the venue by Paul Riemens, RAI Amsterdam’s new CEO, and product manager at Intertraffic Amsterdam Joyce de Winter. In addition Mr Bartenbach was presented with a cheque for a fully catered weekend in Amsterdam.

RAI Amsterdam welcomes around 1.5m visitors a year to some 500 events, including tradeshows, conferences, and corporate event. The annual spin-off value of the RAI for the city of Amsterdam amounts to at least €600m (US$683.10m) and 7000 jobs.
