dmg events sells digital marketing division

French organiser Comexposium Group has acquired the digital marketing division of UK-based dmg events for an undisclosed sum.

Dmg events digital marketing’s portfolio includes interactive advertising and technology exhibition and conference ad:tech, online marketing community iMedia, and invitation-only networking club Collective Group.

The acquisition will complement Comexposium Group’s Mobile Media Summit (MMS) network of events on four continents, according to a company statement.

As part of the deal, Mobile Media Summit founder Paran Johar and dmg events digital marketing president Matt Denton will oversee operations and retain dmg events’ digital marketing team.

Comexposium chief executive Renaud Hamaide said the acquisition would allow the company to become a world leader in digital marketing and e-commerce events.

“Digital Marketing is a rapidly growing sector which falls within the group’s international development strategy, and increases a portfolio of leading events which match our existing events: the Mobile Media Summit, Digital Marketing One-to-One, E-Commerce and E-Commerce One to One,” Hamaide said.

Combining dmg event’s ad:tech, iMedia and Digital Collective products with the Mobile Media Summit would create a network of events to serve major brands, influencers and communication agencies serving the digital marketing, mobile and e-commerce sectors, the company reported.

Investment bank Jordan Edminston Group acted for dmg events in the transaction.
