Air traffic management professionals are invited to pack their bags for the United Arab Emirates as global exhibition organiser UBM launches Air Traffic Control Week.
The series of independent events and networking activities will be held across the UAE from 4 to 8 October.
Central to the week of celebrations is exhibition and conference ATC Global, on 5-7 October, which celebrates its 25th birthday this year. The three-day event will welcome thousands of air traffic management professionals to the Dubai World Trade Centre to discuss and promote developments in the industry, ranging from technology to policy and structure.
ATC Week patron, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “We welcome the launch of ATC Week in the UAE as the latest initiative to facilitate progress in the continuously growing and evolving aviation industry.”
“We look forward to welcoming aviation professionals from the UAE, the region and the world over to participate in a weeklong series of face-to-face events and discussions shaping the future direction of safe and efficient air transport,” Al Maktoum added.
Among the activities planned during the week is a tour of Dubai Air Navigation Services, a workshop about air navigation performance planning, and tours of one of the world’s busiest air traffic management facilities, the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre in Abu Dhabi.
UBM is inviting applications from businesses and groups interested in hosting an event as part of the week.
