Organisers of Vitafoods Europe 2015 hosted a record crowd at the show’s latest exhibition and conference in Geneva recently, prompting a move into a larger hall for 2016.
Informa Exhibitions report 15,627 visitors attended the event on 5-7 May, an increase of 12.5 per cent on the previous year.
More than 820 exhibitors from 47 different countries showcased ingredients, raw materials and services for professionals from the nutraceutical, functional food and beverage and dietary supplement industries.
Vitafoods portfolio director Chris Lee said: “We are delighted with the matchmaking opportunities we created pre-show that added real value to both our visitors and exhibitors in terms of generating business.
“Vitafoods Europe 2015 has been a huge success and there was a real buzz on the show floor, which is a reflection of the growth seen throughout the industry in the past few years.”
In the lead up to the show, organisers set up an online event planner to help help visitors create personalised agendas, incorporating exhibitor meetings, theatre sessions and conference modules. The planner also provided a database of companies seeking distribution opportunities.
Informa said the planner boosted exhibitor satisfaction by increasing pre-registration conversion.
Almost 900 visitors attended 18 presentations at the event’s Global Market Theatre, which provided research and advice on international business.
Lee said more than 97 per cent of the exhibition’s floor space had been rebooked for 2016 and the event would move into a larger hall at Palexpo.
“We’re also looking forward to unveiling a number of exciting developments that will further enhance Vitafoods Europe 2016,” he added.
The show co-located with Finished Products Europe 2015, which featured 211 international exhibitors, offering the latest in functional food and beverages, such as sports nutrition, weight management and women’s health.
Vitafoods Europe and Finished Products Europe will be held on 10-12 May 2016.
