Organiser of The Big 5 events in the Middle East and Asia, dmg events, has announced the launch of The Big 5 Construct East Africa trade exhibition, to capitalise on the region’s expanding construction sector.

The inaugural event will be held at the Kenyatta International Conference Center in Nairobi, on 2-4 November 2016.

“East Africa is an exciting market, with plenty of opportunities and one which is of real interest for our international and GCC clients,” said Andy White, who was recently appointed dmg events vice president construction.

“The Big 5 brand has grown rapidly in recent years from its established home in Dubai and now takes place in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, India and Indonesia.

“Our exhibitors are constantly looking for new markets,” White added.

The trade show and conference will give suppliers and manufacturers access to thousands of architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, and real estate developers actively seeking new and innovative construction products.

Highlights will include free technical seminars, certified workshops, product demonstrations and training programmes, including sessions focused on how to trade in east Africa.

Simon Mellor, dmg events president Middle East and Asia, said it was the first of several shows the company planned to launch in East Africa.

“We feel that the region is currently thriving with opportunities and the timing is perfect to launch a forum that brings in significant value to both local and international businesses,” Mellor said.

“We are upbeat that The Big 5 Construct East Africa will be highly successful in providing an exceptional platform to do business, network and learn from business leaders.”

The Big 5 Construct East Africa has received support from the Kenya Investment Authority.
