Freeman purchases AV business to break into Las Vegas

USA - Exhibition and conference services provider Freeman has grown its audio visual (AV) offering with the purchase of Encore Productions.

President of Freeman’s AV division, Ken Sanders, said that AV rental company Encore’s revenues are about US$58m, and the deal brings Freeman's US and Canadian hotel AV revenue to about $170m.

This, he said, is enough to transition to organic growth in the hospitality space: "We should be able to, with our distribution now, target one-off hotel properties rather than do further acquisitions, although I'd never rule that out.”

Assets include Encore's contracted hotel accounts and its entire equipment base. The management team will remain in place, and Sanders said the company, which has about 240 employees, will keep its brand identity and location.

"Encore is very Vegas-centric. This really helps Freeman’s position in Las Vegas, so we're going to leave Encore as it is and just look at this as a standalone acquisition," he added.

Terms of the deal have not been released.
