USA - California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is due to bid for the 2020 World Expo on behalf of Silicon Valley when he visits the Shanghai World Expo this week.
Gov Schwarzenegger is planning a six-day trip to China, which includes a visit to the Shanghai World Expo where he plans to meet with organisers to pitch the bid.
“When he gets to Shanghai, the governor will pitch bringing the World Expo to Silicon Valley,” said spokesman Jeff Macedo. “We’ll have more to announce over the next few days, but that’s all the details we have right now.”
The World Expo is held every five years, and will take place in Milan for 2015.
