Haymarket pulls out of Polish JV with Montgomery

POLAND - Haymarket has pulled out of its Polish joint venture with Montgomery Exhibitions, Montgomery Polska.

The two UK-based companies formed the partnership to produce the Polish Cereals trade fair (Polskie Zboza), which showcases technical products manufactured by agricultural machinery equipment producers, as well as seeds, fertilisers and plant protection products for use throughout the arable farming industry.

Chairman of Montgomery Exhibitions, Christopher Newton, confirmed that Montgomery will remain in Poland and that the annual event will continue to run unchanged, with its next edition taking place on 17 and 18 June 2011.

"Haymarket decided not to continue with our partnership, and as a result we have concluded a new joint venture deal with Poznan International Fair," said Newton. "The exhibition will go ahead each year as it has before. We are already working on crop plots for next year's June event."

Haymarket will continue to run the UK edition of the Cereals exhibition, which it acquired in 2007.
