China government keen to host green expo

CHINA – The Chinese government is keen to hold an international green industry expo later this year. The stated aim is to encourage co-operation between domestic and overseas companies in developing a green economy.

According to vice-minister of commerce, Jiang Yaoping, the expo will run from November 24 to 27 in Beijing and will display developments in green technology from within China and internationally.

“The expo would also provide precious opportunities for foreign companies to get to know and explore Chinese green markets,” added Jiang.

Jiang claims more than 600 companies including Siemens, GE, Bombardier and First Solar have expressed interest in the green show.
