Suntec Singapore reports record bookings for June

SINGAPORE - Suntec Singapore centre is reporting its highest monthly occupancy, welcoming more than one million visitors to 102 events in June. The busiest month in the venue’s 15-year history saw an 84 per cent MICE occupancy.

“It was a phenomenal month that exceeded our wildest expectations,” says Suntec CEO Pieter Idenburg. “For this busy time we worked closely with many clients who chose to reschedule events simply to hold them at our venue.”

Idenburg expects the buzz to continue as Singapore gears up to host the first ever Youth Olympic Games. “I keep telling my staff that the best is yet to come,” he adds.

Notable events at Suntec included the Singapore International Water Week and the World Cities Summit which drew 14,000 delegates from 85 countries.

Tat Hong Holdings and the Singapore Taekwondo Federation held major dinners and dances in the Ballroom.

Suntec Singapore also welcomed first-time events at the venue in June, such as the International Conference on Emergency Medicine and Robocup.

The annual PC show, meanwhile, drew 950,000 visitors who spent S$52.1m (US$38m) at the show.
