Green Globe University goes online

WORLD - The Green Globe Certification (GGC), an international organisation committed to promoting sustainability, has launched an e-learning portal.

The Green Globe University (GGU) is an online e-learning portal that provides web-based training and accreditation for certification auditors working on the sustainable operation and management of tourism businesses and convention and exhibition centres.

Tutorials focus on providing a foundation in sustainability issues and practices, a comprehensive understanding of the Green Globe Standard for sustainable operations and management, and guidelines for conducting audits with travel and tourism businesses. Live tutorials and coaching by a Green Globe trainer are also available.

“With the growing number of travel and tourism businesses completing certification, we are in need of accredited auditors to carry out on-site inspections in all corners of the world,” says GGC CEO, Guido Bauer. “It’s a convenient way for professionals to upgrade their skills and become an accredited Green Globe auditor.”

GGC is based in California, USA, and is represented in over 83 countries. Convention and exhibition centres that have so far been awarded a Green Globe Standard include the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Bangkok and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, and the Kassel Convention Centre in Germany.
