Exhibitions bring UAE and Russia closer together

WORLD - Expo Centre Sharjah, the exhibition wing of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Crocus Expo, a large exhibition venue in Moscow have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch new shows and develop existing ones.

The plan is to improve exposure of Russian and Emirati businesses to both markets.

The MoU was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, director-general of Expo Centre Sharjah, and Dmitriy Ostroushko, director of Crocus Expo, in Moscow on 7 June 2010.

"The best way to improve trade and business relationships between us is to create a platform for business communities to communicate and expose their goods and services to both markets," says Midfa.

Trade relations between the UAE and Russia have experienced significant growth during the past years and volume of non-oil trade between the two countries last year stood at $727m.
