Gulf BID exhibition receives visitor backing

BAHRAIN - Construction exhibition Gulf BID reports almost an 80 per cent rise on visitors at last week’s show compared to its 2009 edition.

Organiser HCE puts the rise down to the addition of the Gulf Interiors event, the high level of interest surrounding construction projects taking place in the Northern Gulf area and higher investment into its visitor promotion spend.

Most visitors came from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as the likes of Denmark, Ireland, the US and Switzerland, making a total of 5,990 overall.

"The decision to launch Gulf Interiors this year as a separate showcase for design and interiors firms appears to have paid off strongly, with positive feedback coming from exhibitors," says exhibition director, Kim Willis. "Doubling our visitor promotion budget to attract visitors from Bahrain and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia appears justified too."

Willis adds that over 80 per cent of the exhibitors across the two shows have already rebooked for 2011.
