Health Ingredients Europe exhibition to co-locate

SPAIN - UBM International, organiser of the Health Ingredients Europe exhibition (HiE), says the show is to co-locate with Natural Ingredients Europe (NiE) and move to Spain for 2010.

Hosted in Paris as a standalone event in 2008, HiE has followed exhibitor feedback and internal market research and decided to merge with NiE, moving the event to the IFEMA Feria de Madrid in Spain. The exhibition focuses on health and ‘functional’ foods, which are food concepts that boost health or aid disease prevention.

“Spain is now recognised as one of the most successful markets for ‘functional’ foods. It is estimated 30 per cent of food consumption in Spain will be ‘functional’ by 2020 and has grown by 11 per cent since 2008,” says marketing manager, Leonie Reindertsen. “A survey also showed that over 30 per cent of current exhibitors would be happy to move to Spain.”

British-based Melville Exhibition and Event Services has been awarded the contract to supply shell scheme, electrics, pavilions, carpet and furniture for the show.

“As we are committed to developing our service offering into mainland Europe, and with UBM International seen as a key player in the European market, we are delighted with this appointment,” says MD Nick Marshall.
