France - The managing director of the global association of the exhibition industry UFI, Vincent Gérard, has confirmed he will leave the organisation on 31 July next year.
Gérard, who is leaving the company for personal reasons, will be replaced by UFI’s Asia/Pacific regional director Paul Woodward, who takes office on 1 August, 2010. Woodward will be based in UFI’s Paris headquarters where he will ensure the continuity of UFI’s programmes and policies.
Speaking to EW, Gérard said he was leaving the organisation to “slow down” a little, having held the senior executive post at UFI since 2001.
As well as managing UFI’s Paris team, Woodward will also have responsibility for Abu Dhabi – UAE (Middle East/Africa) and Hong Kong (Asia/Pacific), where BSG will continue to provide UFI services to the association’s regional members.
UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, promotes, serves and represents the trade fair industry in 82 countries on six continents. UFI members are responsible for the management and operation of over 4,500 exhibitions and 181 exhibition centres around the world.
