Tarsus made up with US beauty deal

UK-based exhibition organiser Tarsus has formed joint venture with US beauty company Unfiltered Experience. The JV is to run a series of shows in the US focussed on the independent beauty market.

Regional standalone events are also scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, Nashville, and Chicago.

“Unfiltered represents a really exciting move for us, it is exactly the kind of innovative and entrepreneurial business that aligns with the approach taken by the wider group,” said Tarsus Group CEO Douglas Emslie, who added: “I am delighted to welcome Daniela Ciocan and the Unfiltered Experience team to Tarsus Group. She’s a true beauty insider and is recognised for creating event programmes in the beauty space not seen before.”

Unfiltered Experience also featured as a branded event at the biannual Offprice shows, also owned by Tarsus, in Las Vegas during Fashion Week 3-6 February.

Tarsus organises 150 exhibitions around the world, including Labelexpo, Connect and the Dubai Airshow.

Private equity group Charterhouse Partners acquired Tarsus Group last year for £668m (US$863m). Since being acquired by Charterhouse, Tarsus has closed six deals in sectors that include travel, space technology, tyres, 3D glass, in addition to the latest beauty sector deal.
