Seafood exhibition set for big splash in Amsterdam in 2023

The world’s first dedicated trade show and conference for the cold-water seafood sector will make its debut, 10-12 October 2023, at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, the Netherlands.

The trade show will target global industry leaders, companies and experts to the Dutch capital to meet in person, share knowledge and conduct business.

The International Seafood Exhibition ColdWater Seafood 2023 is a joint project between RAI Amsterdam and the Norwegian company Aqkva.

Maurits van der Sluis, chief operating officer of RAI Amsterdam, commented: “Together we can combine the RAI’s 100-plus-years of experience as an event organiser in the Netherlands and abroad with a seasoned organiser of conferences within the fish farming and fisheries sector. Add in the dedicated co-operation of Amsterdam’s local government and the Dutch business and service sectors and we have all the ingredients in place to make ColdWater Seafood 2023 a resounding success.”

Vidar Onarheim, CEO of Aqkva, added: “Having an expert partner like RAI Amsterdam onboard offers a further guarantee that ColdWater Seafood will become the networking port of choice for the cold-water seafood industry.”

As the global population grows to an expected 9.7bn by 2050, there is limited additional production capacity available from traditional land-based agriculture. The trade show aims to provide future growth in food production that will lean heavily on seafood of all sorts.
