Mash Media is pleased to announce that Paul Woodward will be joining Exhibition World as guest editor for a six-month period, beginning 1 June 2021.
Paul has been closely involved with the magazine for a number of years, particularly during the period from 2010–15 when he was the Paris-based managing director of UFI, the global association of the exhibition industry. He now provides advisory services to the B2B media and global events industries as chairman of Paul Woodward Advisory.
Before taking up the UFI role, Paul was based in Hong Kong for 25 years. In 2000 he founded Business Strategies Group Ltd., a business intelligence and strategy consulting firm serving the business media and events industries. BSG established UFI’s Asia/Pacific office in 2004 with Paul serving as UFI’s regional manager. Paul is now the chairman of BSG.
Originally a business journalist, Paul worked from 1985 until 2000 in Hong Kong for the publishing and exhibitions business which now operates as Informa Markets Asia. He was a director of that business responsible for new business development and strategy.
EW managing editor Paul Colston said: “Paul joins us as we prepare to celebrate Global Exhibition Day on 2 June and we are very excited by his plans for future content in the coming months as the exhibition industry looks to rebound, once again providing the platforms for all economic sectors and their future development. Paul’s contacts in the industry are second to none and we look forward to working with him to deliver top-quality, insightful features and interviews across the Exhibition World platforms.”
Paul Woodward added: “This is a really interesting time for the global exhibition industry as we start to emerge from what has been the biggest challenge in all of our careers. There are a huge number of questions still to be answered about what shape the events business will take in the coming months and Exhibition World’s global focus puts it in pole position to see and report on what’s happening in all the major markets. I’m excited to be working with Paul and the team at Mash Media during this critical period of change."
