Messe Dortmund welcomes Structures International, a new international buyer-meets-seller platform for temporary building structures, industrial and storage tents and event marquees, 8-10 November.
The new show will offer visitors a one-stop-shop experience for a range of equipment components, accessories and services from suppliers across Germany and beyond.
As well as big names in the marquees and tentage, portable buildings and roofing sector such as Röder Zelt und Veranstaltungsservice, HTS Tentique, HR-Structure, Oostdam Flexzelt International, Eurostretchtents Deutschland, Skyliner and Stadur Productions GmbH, the exhibition will also showcase a variety of specialist equipment businesses.
“The importance of tents and marquees has mushroomed in many industries in the recent past. One example is in the logistics industry – as a means of boosting storage capacity – and another is the world of municipalities, institutions and welfare providers who have had to meet high demand for mobile accommodation and extra storage space during severe weather disasters and in coping with the refugee problem. The newly initiated show sees Messe Dortmund bringing together all the trades involved in European marquees and tentage in one place for the very first time,” said Sabine Loos, chief show organiser and managing director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe, which owns and operates the exhibition centre.
“For the logistics industry in particular, Dortmund – with its superb infrastructure – is the ideal place to get together. With 760 companies and 25,000 employees, the largest city in the Ruhr metropolitan region is itself a key logistics hub in what is the largest contiguous economic area in the European Union. Its proximity to the Benelux countries is also of key importance as many manufacturing companies and suppliers to the tent and marquee industry are based there.,” Loos added.
Kuno Neumeier, MD of the Logivest Group and spokesman for the Logistics Property section of the German Federal Logistics Association (BVL), emphasised the importance of the new show: “The Covid pandemic, the war in Ukraine, rising energy costs and staff shortages have caused major disruptions to global supply chains. The result is an increase in stockpiling and a sharp rise in demand for storage space. Temporary buildings can be a cost-effective and, above all, flexible alternative for warehousing and manufacturing when it comes to absorbing storage peaks and dealing with temporary increases in space requirements, and they can also be used at locations abroad!”
