Sigep, the Dolce World Expo and Vicenzaoro January, the Jewellery Boutique Show, both organised by IEG - Italian Exhibition Group events, and scheduled for January, have been postponed to new dates 12–16 March and 17–21 March 2022 respectively.
IEG said that, in view of current pandemic indicators, the trade associations concerned considered it impossible to attract significant attendance from both Italy and abroad, including Europe, in January as planned.
At the end of December, the companies of the IEG Group submitted an application pursuant to the Public Notice of the Ministry of Tourism of 5 August 2021 to access “compensation for losses suffered by the trade fair and congress sector as a result of the Covid-19 epidemic” ('Ristori'), and collected the remaining balance of the amounts recognised for 2020 losses and additional contributions of €10,086,018, chargeable to compensation for 2021 losses. Total grants received by the Group in 2021 for Ristori amounted to €17.8m. To these must be added €9.8m of "Non-repayable grants commensurate with fixed costs not covered by profits incurred by the exhibition system" disbursed by SIMEST S.p.A. in August 2021. IEG also announced that on 23 December 2021 the renegotiation process of the guaranteed loans assisted by Garanzia Italia issued by SACE S.p.A. was completed.
