Bilbao Exhibition Centre has obtained the seal of full international official recognition from Spain's Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism for five of the trade fairs on its programme. The certification came via the Official State Gazette (BOE) in the Official Calendar of International Trade Fairs for 2022. The status of ‘Full Internationality’ for the five shows is important for customs purposes and allows for states support for participation in such national trade fairs.
The designation of Full Internationality brings together those fairs that meet a series of criteria set by the Ministry; these include having held at least three editions of the event and having 10% of foreign exhibitors or 5% of foreign visitors. Certified fairs must also have the support of the sector, work with new technologies and have a favourable report from the Territorial Trade Directorate and ICEX.
In this category of Full Internationality can now be included the crafts fair Tendencias Creativas, the first event on the 2022 calendar, which will take place 3-6 February; and the professional fairs WindEurope, one of the benchmark events of the European Wind Energy Association, scheduled for 5-7 April; Addit3D, the additive manufacturing and 3D fair, which will coincide with the BIEMH-International Machine Tool Biennial, 13-17 June; and Egurtek, the International Forum on Architecture and Construction in Wood, which will take place 19-20 October.
The certificate of Full Internationality also means companies arriving from outside the European Union can temporarily exhibit their products without having to pay customs duties.
The same benefit also applies to fairs that fall into the group Internationality for customs purposes. This second group includes the fairs open to the general public, Gustoko, scheduled 4-6 March, and Expovacaciones, which will take place 6-8 May; and, together with them, the event aimed at the industrial application of digital technologies, to be held 13-17 June, BeDIGITAL.
