The Dutch government is to expand substantially its support package for jobs and the economy, and has announced a raft of support measures including plans for a new €300m guarantee fund for events.
Although a vaccination programme has begun in the Netherlands, opening up possibilities for the future, businesses continue to suffer as the coronavirus crisis has led to an economic crisis with the country in lockdown.
The government’s latest boost is set to mean an additional expenditure package amounting to €7.6bn over the first and second quarters of 2021 for the economy as a whole.
The government has said a separate guarantee fund will be created for events. This will enable event organisers to start planning and organising events once it is responsible to do so. The current thinking is that this could be active from 1 July.
The government in The Hague is still working on the details of this plan, but more details on the general support package for the economy can be found on its website here
