Hugh Jones, Global CEO of Reed Exhibitions has announced that Fernando Fischer has been named president, Reed Exhibitions Americas.
Fischer joined Reed Exhibitions as president, US in January 2020. Previously he was CEO of Reed Exhibitions (RX) Brazil for three years, during which time he improved financial performance.
In that role he also led the introduction of high impact digital solutions for matchmaking at the company’s events and won RX Brazil the accolade of one the ‘best places to work’ in the country.
Prior to joining Reed Exhibitions, Fischer served as CEO of six companies in Brazil and one start-up in the US across industries ranging from consumer electronics, mobile, gaming and healthcare, to security, foodservice and industrial.
Commenting on the appointment, Jones said: “I am delighted for Fernando and for us all at Reed Exhibitions across the region. Since joining Reed Exhibition US, not only has he had the tough job of navigating through these strange and challenging times, he has been relentlessly focused on creating results-driven value for our customers and an inclusive and diverse environment for our team. Given his expertise and experience in digital innovation, I am confident that with Fernando at the helm, we are laying the foundation to grow our business and our customers’ businesses in the future.”

Fischer succeeds Hervé Sedky whom Jones thanked for his efforts and dedication. “I’m grateful for his professional and thoughtful leadership during his time with the business. We wish him every success in the future.”
Sedky was then, 13 November, announced as the new president and CEO of exhibition organiser Emerald. He is to assume his new role on 5 January, 2021. Brian Field, Emerald’s interim president and CEO, will continue to serve as the company’s chief operating officer.
