Subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Pico Far East Holdings Limited, Global International Convention and Exhibition (Tianjin) Company Limited (GICE), has announced a strategic alliance with Tianjin Binhai New Area Cultural Center Investment Management Co., Ltd. In Northern China to develop the Binhai Cultural Center in Tianjin’s Binhai New Area.
The alliance aims to leverage IP resources backed by Pico Group and develop high-quality cultural tourism projects and venue operations and services.
The alliance aims to create smart venues and also be a supplier of operational services for tech-enabled venues. The ultimate aim is to create a high-quality, high added-value, high-traffic ecosystem for the cultural, tourism and business sectors.
Established in May 2020, GICE says it aims “to catch onto the growth momentum of the exhibition and convention sector in Tianjin”, adding that it hopes to “combine the Pico Group’s more than five decades of experience, extensive global network and ample resources with the Binhai Cultural Center’s regional competitive edge to drive the exhibition and convention industry in the Binhai New Area”.
Tianjin Binhai New Area Cultural Center Investment Management Co., Ltd. is a Chinese state-owned enterprise based in Tianjin’s Binhai New Area. The Binhai Cultural Center is the largest single cultural complex in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, with an area of 120,000sqm. The complex includes an art gallery, a science and technology museum, a public library, a performance centre, an activity centre and a cultural corridor.
Pico Group has been actively invested in exhibition and event facilities in China and Asia and provides professional management services on a consultancy or turnkey management basis.
