ProWine São Paulo, jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf and Emme Brazil and Inner Group, is to lead the live Brazilian tradefair business back to business on 20-22 October, 2020.
Transamerica Expo São Paulo will be the host venue for the event, with organisers expecting to welcome 350 brands of wines and spirits from 15 exhibiting countries.
Brazil’s first tradefair to be held since the outbreak of Covid-19 represents a huge responsibility for the organisers. “At the same time, it is very rewarding to be able to bring content, information, current and relevant issues to the entire industry,” says show director Rico Azeredo.
Registrations are exclusive to professionals in the sector and confirmed exhibitors include: Viver Gourmet, Cantu importer, World Wine, La Pastina, Famiglia Valduga, Amitié Espumantes, Aurora, Enhanced Marketing, Freixenet, Tejo Wines, Miolo, PNR Group, VCT Brasil, Pizzato, A Lenda Portuguesa, Upperhand Gin , JC Test and Measurement, Netter, Frigostrella, Vistamontes Vinicola, EBV and Terroir Import and Export, among others.
The show programme includes special tasting sessions and lectures via the Forum. This year, the topics covered will reveal important information for the market, such as consumption trends and focus on regions that most consume wines.
Organisers say strict health and security protocols will be in place, based on the practices recommended by UFI and by the World Health Organisation.
“The Covid-19 pandemic triggered changes in people's behaviour and expectations regarding various services, including the organisation of fairs. We have a great responsibility with all the people that will attend the event and we take all measures to guarantee the best experience for everyone, but in a safe and healthy way,” says Azeredo.
There are additional technical and organisational measures in order to meet the decrees provided by the federal, state and municipal government for holding congresses and fairs. All people who attend the event; visitors, service providers, exhibitors and technical staff they will go through a series of controls, before entering the pavilion.
Given that wine-tasting is a big part of the show, one of the most important rules of the protocols is the use of individual disposable spittoons. The organisers have prepared more than 20,000 paper cup spittoons to be used individuality and disposed of right after the usage. ProWine has partnered with a local recycling company, which will collect all paper cups used during the event.
Another general concern in the cleaning process of the glasses. In order to guarantee the proper disinfection of the glasses, ProWine partnered with Netter, a Brazilian manufacture of industrial dishwashers. Netter dishwashers use hot water over 65°c and cleaning products that guarantee the elimination of virus and bacteria, as well as saving 70% of water used on a manual cleaning process.
Ultra violet cleaning of general surfaces will be carried out at the end of each day.
