International event organiser and venue manager Easyfairs has announced that it has entered into a partnership with SGS, a testing and certification company, to ensure that the health and wellbeing of visitors and exhibitors, as well as Easyfairs employees, is safeguarded at its events and venues.
Easyfairs Group CEO and founder, Eric Everard, said: “We want to be sure that every visit to our events and venues is not only an easy visit, but a safe visit.”
SGS will review Easyfairs' enhanced cleaning protocols to ensure they meet the highest international standards, including those for the prevention of and protection against the spread of Covid-19.
In addition to verifying Easyfairs' events and venues’ enhanced hygiene and disinfection protocols, SGS will be validating Easyfairs’ training plans for its employees on implementation of the enhanced health and safety protocols, and developing a control and monitoring programme to ensure these standards are maintained globally.
Peter Possemiers, executive vice-president of SGS environment health and safety services, said: “As the event industry has a high responsibility to address health and safety issues, we are very happy to partner with Easyfairs on implementing a monitoring programme which takes advantage of our technology solutions and provides a level of comfort to event visitors for years to come.”
Once all protocols have been verified and validated, all Easyfair venues will receive a label from SGS proving their successful implementation as its operations resume.
Everard added: “Live events will play an important role in the economic recovery. It is therefore absolutely vital that we do everything possible to ensure cleanliness and hygiene to protect everybody’s health and safety, and build confidence in business communities. To this end, we are putting our trust in SGS, the global benchmark for quality and integrity."
