Jane Hague, head of business development, conferences and events, at ExCeL London has been selected as the new regional vice president EMEA for the International Live Events Association (ILEA).
This role sees Hague return to a leadership role within the association, following her tenure as president of the UK Chapter in 2012.
The role of RVP EMEA oversees a number of international chapters including Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia and serves as a liaison to the ILEA Board of Governors and staff, headquartered in Chicago.
Commenting on her appointment, Hague said: “I am delighted to take on this leadership position within ILEA. The continued globalisation of the events industry drives the need for a strong, international network that supports growth and provides contacts, knowledge and expertise in local markets. She continues: “ILEA is perfectly positioned to be the one-stop shop for creative event professionals to learn from each other and support our professional and business development ambitions.”
Hague further commented: “The ILEA Middle East chapter is a powerhouse and has seen significant growth over the last few years. This provides a great opportunity to further expand the network in Abu Dhabi with the support of our owners, ADNEC, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company.”
Sara Grauf, ILEA global president and senior VP event strategy and services at San Francisco Giants comments on Jane’s appointment, saying: “Jane is a well-respected event professional and has the energy and enthusiasm to ensure our association continues to deliver for our membership. I am thrilled to have her support and look forward to working together to ensure the future success and growth of our EMEA regions.”
The global ILEA leadership team will meet in August for the annual ILEA Live conference which takes place in Minneapolis from 8-10 August 2019.
