South Korea is to unveil its new convention centre in the city of Suwon on 29 March 2019.
The Suwon Convention Center (SCC) is a seven-storey convention building and plaza, including two underground and five above ground floors, which house a total of 28 meeting rooms.
The central space of the building is its first floor main exhibition hall with 7,800sqm.
Just outside the convention building is Sky Park, where visitors can enjoy a view of Gwanggyo Lake Park. There are plans for a 5-star hotel, gallery, department store and entertainment facilities as part of a wider MICE complex.
The venue is 10 minutes’ walk from Gwanggyo Central Station and an hour's drive from Incheon International Airport.
Suwon is the capital of Gyeonggi-do province, has a 1.25m population and is home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites – Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace.
The city has 11 universities and multiple international business corporations, including Samsung. SCC management reports a fully booked schedule for this year of 42 events.
