A selected group of agencies and professionals in the events industry were invited to get a glimpse of EventCity, a bespoke events space in Manchester situated inside TraffordCity.
The guests were served brunch by the venue’s new in-house catering offering The Kitchen. They were then given a chance to take a look at EventCity, the largest events space in the north of England with a total floor space of 28,000sqm.
The guests were transported via a Mercedes Sprinter to The Alchemist in MediaCity, where they were inducted into the art of cocktail making with a masterclass. Following this, they embarked on a tour of the dock10 television studios in MediaCity, where The Voice, Blue Peter and Match of the Day are all filmed.
Around £3bn will be invested into TraffordCity over the next 20 years by The Peel Group, investors, stakeholders and partners. This will include a further 1,000 hotel rooms, a new £350m Trafford Park Metrolink line, and a new £41m flagship retail centre.
Simon Jones, sales director for EventCity, said: “We were delighted to host our first ever FAM trip here at EventCity. The day was incredibly fun and highlighted the amazing versatility and breadth of our offer. It’s an exciting time for us with the regeneration of TraffordCity, and this was a great opportunity for agents to see both the flexibility and scale of our venue.’
Ellie Hogg, event executive for Bray Leino events, said: “It was a very well organised, interesting and enjoyable day. We came away with relevant knowledge of EventCity and Manchester. I hope we get to work together in the future.”
