At IMEX America the congress brand NürnbergConvention and NürnbergMesse, was one of the world’s top 12 exhibition venues at IMEX America.
Those representing Nuremberg wete in the German Convention Bureau’s (GCB) pavilion at this year’s IMEX America (B 2223-05).
At the end of 2016, Nuremberg received the German National Sustainability Award, and it is the winner of 4th Green Capital Award, an initiative of the European Commission.
In addition, the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region became the first European metropolitan region to be designated a fair trade metropolitan region – and it was given this status at BIOFACH, which is the world’s leading show for everything organic (over 2,800 exhibitors and more than 50,000 trade visitors) and the parent show for all organic BIOFACHS worldwide.
The Saatgutfestival (Seed Festival) and the biodiversity exhibition BIODIVA also take place during BIOFACH both are open to everyone, as is the organic festival “Bio erleben” (Experience Organic).
All the city’s organic activities are held under the umbrella of NUREMBERG THE ORGANIC CITY.
In keeping with IMEX America’s sustainability theme, the organisation discussed the event BIOFACH’s and it’s new hall, hall 3A, which is not only an architectural highlight, but also an excellent example of energy efficiency – and it is the first exhibition hall in the world to receive the German Sustainable Building Council’s (DGNB) Platinum Award because of that.
In addition, all of NürnbergMesse’s premises have been inspected and certified according to the strict German DIN ISO 50001 standard, which is down to the company’s sustainable energy management system.
