The inaugural Smart Urban Mobility Solutions (SUMS) exhibition and conference will co-locate with All-Energy 2017, organiser Reed Exhibitions has announced.

The new event, to be held on 10-11 May at the SECC, will focus on Glasgow’s pioneering work on smart cities and the city’s history of innovation in intelligent traffic control.

“Over recent years smart sustainable cities and sustainable transport have figured on both the conference agenda and the exhibition show floor at All-Energy,” explains Jonathan Heastie, event director. “It is now time to spread the net wider and launch SUMS 2017 alongside All-Energy as a co-located event.

“SUMS 2017, which is supported by Glasgow City Council, includes an exhibition and a two-day conference programme and will focus on the growing demand for new and emerging smart mobility technologies within existing transportation infrastructures – just one of the many challenges facing today’s cities.”

The exhibition and conference programme will feature key technologies and topics including: incident response technologies, connected vehicles, sensor technologies and data collection and charging/refuelling infrastructure and energy management.

“We would like to encourage organisations local to Glasgow to consider inviting our visitors and exhibitors on site visits to relevant local installations and/or to technology demonstrations the day before, or after, SUMS 2017,” Heastie added.

All-Energy 2016 attracted a total unique attendance of 6,726 visitors and some 400 exhibitors.
