InformexUSA returns to New Orleans for 2012

USA – InformexUSA, an exhibition for buyers and sellers of high-value chemistry for a broad range of applications, has confirmed the event is returning to New Orleans in 2012.

Next year’s edition of the show will be its 28th, and will be held at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans on 14 to 17 February.

According to organiser Informex, 67 exhibitors had signed up before the start of the 2011 show in Charlotte this week, including the Albemarle Corporation, BASF, Piramal Healthcare and the WeylChem Corporation.

Explaining the selection of New Orleans as host destination, Informex’s global brand director Jennifer Jessup said there are more than 300 major chemical plants located in Louisiana, employing more than 23,000 people.

“Louisiana alone exports nearly US$4.5bn in chemical products each year. This will be more important as the demand for US-made chemicals is predicted to increase in 2011 as the nation's economy continues to recover and maintains a trade surplus for the second year in a row,” she said.

The Chemistry Innovations Poster Pavilion will make its return at the New Orleans event, giving companies an opportunity to display innovations, new products, technologies and services to influential industry players.

UBM Live recently announced it will launch an edition of its Informex brand in Singapore next year.
