Global marketing and events group announces positive 2010 results

WORLD - Viad Corp, the parent company of Global Experience Specialists (GES), has announced positive revenue figures for 2010.

It reported overall revenues of £527m ($845m) for the year, a five per cent rise on 2009. Its marketing and events group, which includes GES and Melville Exhibition and Event Services, recorded an increase of 3.6 per cent, coming in at £472m ($757m).

"Increases in show attendance that took place early in 2010 eventually led to growth in net square footage and exhibitor attendance later in the year,” said GES president, Steve Moster. "We're seeing growth in all of our international markets too, so we're making investments to enhance the exhibitor experience worldwide."

This includes a call centre now established in the UK, and an online ordering platform currently under development and expected to launch later this year. The UAE is another region that has shown improved results for GES since it established an office there in 2007.

"We expect to see continued industry growth in 2011 as exhibitor spending improves, despite exhibitors remaining price-sensitive,” he added.
