CEIR appoints research director in bid to bring expertise in-house

USA - The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) has appointed Nancy Drapeau as research director.

Drapeau began her market research career in 1991 and has 12 years’ experience specifically in the trade media sector. She launched a full-time market research practice in September 2008 and conducted research that helped frame recruitment for a trade mission to China, as well as conducting the CEIR Study ‘Analysing How Exhibits Fit in the Overall Marketing Budget’.

Historically, CEIR has completed studies through research subcontractors. Moving forward, many research initiatives will be completed internally, to reduce costs and expand the organisation’s in-house expertise.

"For decades, CEIR has been a national leader in delivering unbiased research to the exhibition industry, reporting on trends, best practices and market insights,” said Drapeau. “Results have helped organisers, exhibitors and other industry players navigate the ongoing evolution in this business, pinpointing opportunities for growth and ways to position one's company in light of current trends. To take on this role is a major responsibility. I look forward to the challenge."

CEIR recently outlined the results of an online discussion and survey of professionals aged 20 to 39 in a report titled The Power of Exhibitions in the 21st Century: Identify, Discover and Embrace Change from the Point of View of Young Professionals.
