GERMANY – Trade show organiser and venue owner, Messe Frankfurt, claims to have completed its best ever year in terms of sales revenues.
It expects to close 2010 with €450m in sales, and pre-tax profits set to come in around the €30m mark.
The Messe Frankfurt exhibition centre held 93 congresses and conferences attracting about 110,000 participants. It also held 31 trade fairs and exhibitions, which brought in 36,700 exhibitors and almost 1.5m visitors.
“We’ve attracted a diverse exhibitor and visitor base, with 72 per cent of exhibitors and 47 per cent of visitors coming from abroad,” said Messe Frankfurt chairman, Wolfgang Marzin. “This rise in revenues echoes the company's last year of robust sales in 2008.”
