Taiwan returns to Cambodian tech expo

CAMBODIA - Taiwanese firms appeared at an international machinery fair in Cambodia for the first time in five years, in a move to increase trade and economic ties between the two countries.

A group of 44 companies led by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, attended Cambodia Machine Tech 2010 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital city.

TAITRA exhibitions’ department head, Yeh Chi-Ling, said that as an emerging market “Cambodian demand for various products is increasing, and trade between the two countries in 2010 is likely to exceed that of the previous year”.

Taiwan’s Taipei World Trade Centre Nangang Exhibition Hall will double its exhibition space and be upgraded to a national-level exhibition venue by 2013.
