ABU DHABI - Johannesburg-based In2Structures has sold one of its dome structures to Abu Dhabi-based Flash Entertainment, one of the largest event organisers and live music promoters in the UAE.
The 84m by 36m dome, known as the Flash Forum, will provide a 5,000 capacity multi-purpose venue on Yas Island for at least the next three years.
Flash Entertainments’ operations director, Lee Charteris, said he was looking for a solution that offered “decent weight loadings, great aesthetics and distinctive branding opportunities” to Abu Dhabi.
“We needed a venue that could be adaptable enough to stage anything from live concerts to corporate events, exhibitions and presentations,” added Charteris.
The first event staged at the Flash Forum was during the weekend of the final race of the 2010 Formula One Championship. Celebrities and VIPs enjoyed three nights of partying and live music, including an appearance by rock musician Prince.
