European companies sign MOU to promote exhibitions

EUROPE - Three exhibition research and consultancy companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to help accelerate exhibition industry development in central and southeast Europe.

Exhibition statistics researcher Centrex (Budapest), IEE Exhibition Research Institute (Thessaloniki) and management consultancy CBBS (Zagreb) have agreed to cooperate to take advantage of business opportunities resulting from an enlarged European Union.

Goals of the MOU include promoting live events to small and medium businesses, local governments and other industry stakeholders; spreading the use of transparent auditing of events; and conducting market research.

The MOU will be in effect for three years from 15 October 2010.

International exhibition association UFI recently released audited data on over 2,000 European shows.
