Dubai Helishow lifts its visitor game

UAE - The organiser behind the Helishow Dubai 2010, Media Communications and Exhibitions, claims to have significantly improved the number and quality of registered visitors to this month’s show.

The announcement follows its decision to simultaneously host the first Military and Homeland Security Exhibition in 2010. Both will be complemented by the Defence and Paramilitary Conference, which includes speakers from both the military and industry and will focus on technological developments.

The fourth Helishow is being held at the Dubai Airport Expo Centre from 2-4 November. Nearly 100 exhibitors will be in attendance covering national and international air rescue, medical transport and aviation industry organisations.

Mediac Communications and Exhibitions CEO, Adbulla Abulhoul, said visitor registration numbers were higher than those in 2009 and predicted 2010 footfall to exceed 3,000. The company claims its event is the third-largest global exhibition after Heli-Expo in the US and Helitech in the UK.

“Most importantly, the quality of registrants has significantly improved. This year we’re expecting delegations from the Iraqi Army, Saudi Arabia, Rolls Royce and Abu Dhabi Aviation as well as student groups who are the future engineers of the industry,” he said.

“The addition of the Military and Homeland Security Exhibition will enable the Dubai Helishow to offer a broad platform to exhibitors who have product offerings in both the civil and military markets.”

Other new features of the 2010 Helishow exhibition include a VIP discussion group by the MedEvac Foundation International. A range of helicopters will also be on display from Lockheed Martin as well as flight simulators from Russian-based MAK.

Earlier this month, neighbouring city, Abu Dhabi, appointed the Institute for Near East and Gulf Military Analysis to deliver its own Gulf Defence Conference (GDC) in February 2011.
