AUSTRALIA – Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has appointed Sally de Swart as event director for its Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) in Melbourne.
De Swart takes over from Rosemarie Sama, who resigned after nearly 10 years at RTE. De Swart had been the acting event director during Sama’s recent maternity leave and previously worked for Reed Exhibitions and Clarion Events in the UK.
“The last three months have shown me first-hand what a great event AIME is and I am delighted to accept the role on a permanent basis,” de Swart said.
RTE runs a portfolio of annual meetings industry exhibitions in Barcelona, Abu Dhabi, Beijing and Baltimore in 2011, and organises AIME on behalf of the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCVB).
AIME 2011 is due to take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) from 15-16 February 2011.
