SOUTH KOREA - Korean exhibition and conference business could receive a boost in the wake of the G20 meeting.
According to a report by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), successfully hosting November’s G20 summit could bring 48 more exhibitions and conferences to Seoul for a new total of 470 per year. The number of international participants could rise by 17,000 to 170,000.
As well, the KITA report said South Korea could expect an additional US$2.5bn in exports, see tourism earnings rise by $46m and new jobs for 16,000 people.
The G20 summit will take place in Seoul on 11 and 12 November.
Seoul’s Incheon International Airport recently revealed plans to build a second terminal.
