THAILAND - Thailand has won the bid to host the World Philatelic Exhibition in 2013.
The event, which will was given the official name of Bangkok 2013 World Stamp Exhibition, is the fourth international stamp event hosted by Thailand.
The president of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Akapol Sorasuchart, said the selection is a strong vote of confidence that many international associations still believe in Thailand.
“Despite recent setbacks, Thailand’s underlying values still shine through,” he said. “When you look at the whole package, Thailand’s meetings and conventions appeal is hard to beat.”
Around 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the event.
