Tivoli Congress Centre is ready despite construction site

DENMARK - Despite still being a hard hat construction site, Copenhagen’s Tivoli Congress Center will be ready for its first convention two days after opening on 12 October 2010, its General Manager, Jakob Ellermann tells EW.

Planned as the largest purpose-built convention centre within the city district, the venue (75,000sqm) will be able accommodate over 4,000 delegates for meetings, conventions, lectures and exhibitions.

Its 2,500-delegate congress hall, Ellermann says, will focus on hosting large-scale exhibitions with breakout sessions and meetings held in the surrounding lecture theatres, meeting rooms and its mezzanine level.

The Tivoli Congress Center, Tivoli Hotel and WakeUp Copenhagen are owned by the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group. The two hotels can accommodate up to 900 guests.

Tivoli is Copenhagen’s historic 165-year-old amusement park, located in the city centre. During the Tivoli season – spring, summer and autumn – a shuttle bus for hotel guests will operate between Tivoli Hotel and the amusement park.
